The “Saint John the Baptist Pro-Life League” has been part of student life at IHM for over 25 years. Throughout the year, the league meets monthly to discuss current issues. They lead weekly Divine Mercy devotions, sponsor in-school events, and host the annual Pancake Breakfast.

Tickets are now on sale for the 3rd annual Pro-Life Dinner, hosted by the League, which will take place on May 16, 2026. The guest speaker this year is Fr. Robert McTeigue, S.J., a philosophy and theology professor, known for his work in rhetoric and medical ethics. He also hosts “Bringing Christ to the World and the World to Christ” on The Station of the Cross Catholic Media Network. Tickets are $40 per person.

The League has not limited its activities to Harvard, MA. In previous years, it sponsored several pro-life billboards for only a few months each. This year, it maintained a billboard in Worcester, MA, for the entire year, showing it in two locations and aiming to touch many hearts and souls.

On March 18, the League will attend the Pro-life March in Hartford, CT, marking their first time participating in the Connecticut event. In prior years, their tradition of marching took them to Washington, DC. Although the trip coincides with finals week, we trust that their sacrifice will be blessed.

The Saint John the Baptist Pro-Life League will receive the 2026 Ruth V. K. Pakaluk Pro-Life Youth Award from the Diocese of Worcester for their outstanding youth commitment to the pro-life cause. The award will be presented on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, during the diocesan Mass for Life celebrated by Bishop Robert McManus at the Cathedral of St. Paul.

Highlighting the significance of this achievement, in a letter to parents, Sister Marie-Jean, MICM, League Director, praised the group’s accomplishment: “This is the first time this award has been presented to an entire group. We are receiving a wonderful honor!”

May God bless these young pro-life advocates.
