Pray for the Faithful Departed

Remember your dearly departed on All Souls’ Day. This year, since November 2nd falls on a Sunday, the observance of All Souls’ Day is moved to Monday, November 3rd. This tradition is followed because a Requiem Mass, which is a Mass for the Dead, is not permitted on Sundays, as Sundays celebrate the Resurrection.

On All Souls’ Day, the Church pauses in her regular feasts to pray for all those who have gone before us. It serves as a solemn reminder of the Four Last Things: Death, Judgment, Heaven, and Hell.

Here at Saint Benedict Center, we will hold three Masses for the Dead to remember both known and unknown souls who have passed away. If you would like your departed loved ones to be specially remembered on All Souls’ Day and throughout November, please fill out the form below.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
