On Pentecost Sunday, May 28, 2023, Brother Gerard Fretwell professed his Final Vows as a Slave of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Brother. This day was the climax of five and a half years of prayer, study, and preparation.
Brother Gerard, the eldest of Carol and Christopher Fretwell’s three children, was raised nearby in Pepperell MA. and attended IHM School graduating with the Class of ’15. After graduation, he worked as a machinist and woodworker until beginning his discernment with the Brothers MICM.
Steady and hardworking, Brother Gerard’s meticulous skill and love of carpentry are a wonderful addition to the Brothers. Besides contributing to the IHM School Expansion Project, he also teaches 8th Grade Life Science and Highschool Woodshop. Among his various woodworking accomplishments are the trophy case for MacIsaac Hall and he recently finished a beautiful wooden coffin and plans to make more.
Brother Gerard now takes his skills to a whole new level as he works to build up the Kingdom of God and achieve sanctity as a Brother MICM. Perseverance Brother!
