We gave special thanks to God for Brother Hugh MacIsaac, who founded our community in 1976, and for the many blessings received over the past fifty years. Commemorative booklets created for the anniversary shared our story and highlighted our journey over the past half century. It is truly inspiring to witness all that God has accomplished!
A special grace of the day was the Final Profession of Sister Mary Anne, MICM, along with the Renewal of Vows by the Brothers and Sisters, both celebrated during the sung Mass of the feast.
After Mass, everyone gathered for cake, and later in the afternoon, the community, together with Sister Mary Anne’s family and friends, enjoyed a private luncheon featuring Chinese food. During lunch, a slideshow of historic monastery photos played, prompting many fond memories. The day concluded with Solemn Vespers and the singing of the Te Deum.
The following day, after the 9 am Mass, a picnic celebration for the larger community and school families was held in MacIsaac Hall. The afternoon was filled with lively conversation, laughter, and a great potluck spread. It was wonderful to see supporters, young and old, wearing our 50th Anniversary T-shirts to mark the occasion.
The feast and anniversary celebration were just the beginning! We have launched a year-long commemoration and look forward to sharing historic photos and stories in the months ahead.
