We are pleased to announce the release of our new CD featuring the Brothers of the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary! Titled “Requiem,” this recording pays homage to the Missa pro Defunctis, or traditional Mass for the Dead, drawing its name from the powerful opening words of the Introit: “Requiem Aeternam Dona Eis, Domine.” This sacred Mass is a profound expression of prayer and supplication to God for the souls of the faithful departed.
The CD features ten distinct musical sections, with “Subvenite” as the processional hymn and “In Paradisum” as the closing antiphon. Allow the timeless and solemn chants to inspire and elevate your heart and soul, creating a bridge between the earthly and the eternal.
This remarkable recording showcases the Brothers of the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary alongside a talented ensemble of male singers, all under the expert direction of organist and conductor Michael Olbash. It was recorded in the stunning parish church of Saint John, the Guardian of Our Lady, in Clinton, Massachusetts. The mission was to faithfully capture the Gregorian chants for the Requiem Mass, accompanied by organ, in the exquisite style of Achille Bragers (1887 – 1955).
