About
the Sisters
Brides of Christ
The Sisters MICM (Mancipia Immaculati Cordis Mariae, Latin for “Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary”) live a traditional and active religious life in community. Taking the three traditional vows of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience, the Sisters are united as Brides of Christ, fully consecrated to Jesus through Mary. Embracing the spirit of this Consecration, as formulated by Saint Louis Marie de Montfort in “True Devotion to Mary,” their lives are dedicated to doing everything “in, with, and for” the Immaculate Heart of Mary for the salvation of souls.
A Sister’s daily life is nourished by the Traditional Latin Mass and Liturgy, along with the daily recitation of the Holy Rosary. The Sisters’ apostolate, which has a missionary nature, encompasses a variety of work, including teaching, publishing, and directing camps. Their spirit of contemplation extends beyond the chapel walls and accompanies them in all that they do. Daily activities are infused with spirituality, as each task, unlike worldly labor, is united to prayer, giving glory to God throughout the day.
Wearing a simple but traditional full black habit, the Sisters embody a life hidden in Christ, turning away from the vanities and distractions of materialism. Aspiring to be Christ’s Eternal Bride, they embrace a life of chastity and self-denial that contrasts sharply with societal norms. By obeying the will of Christ as outlined in the rule of their order and heeding the guidance of their superiors, they offer their freedom to the yoke of humility and dependence on God.

Our community is nourished by the Traditional Latin Mass and devotion “To Jesus through Mary.”
Work
While our prayer life is our principal work, our active religious life is transformed into a living prayer.
