Dear Friends,
As we approach Holy Week and the end of Lent, I thank all who have made a Lenten Alms. It is very much appreciated.
At the same time, I would like to make one last appeal to you for a Lenten Alms, if you have not made one, to help us finish the addition to Immaculate Heart of Mary School.
We have many new applicants hoping to attend school next year and we are desperate to finish by September to accommodate them.
At this point here is where we are:
- The fire suppression system is almost completed and is now being installed in the attic and the necessary water pump and control panel have been ordered. Completion of this phase will be a milestone.
- After Easter, we will be ready to hang sheet rock and skim-coat the interior walls. This will be a major project and will hire a sub-contractor.
- Following that, we will trim more than 100 windows with wood and install the interior doors.
- The Installation of the elevator will take place as soon as the main electric service is connected.
- Next will be the installation of lighting fixtures.
- Flooring (another major project) for 15,000 square feet comes after that.
- The fire alarm system will be completed once the horns, strobes, detectors, and pull stations are installed.
- And finally, there will be the tower or cupula on top of the elevator shaft. There will be an opening for a statue of our Blessed Mother. This is yet to be made on the ground and then lifted by crane and installed.
If everyone receiving this appeal donated $50.00, we would reach our goal. This won’t happen but I assure you that every donation—large or small—will help us move forward toward completion.
Thank you for your attention and consideration. I pray that you have a grace-filled Holy Week, followed by a Blessed and Happy Easter.
In the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Br. Thomas Augustine, M.I.C.M.
