On Pentecost Sunday, May 31, 2020, we witnessed the Professions of two of our Brothers, Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Brother Gerard (24), formerly known as Nicholas Fretwell, made his First Profession of Vows after two years of Noviciate. Brother Patrick Joseph (28), formerly known as Michael Duffy, made his Final Profession of Vows after three years of First Vows.

Both Brothers attended our Immaculate Heart of Mary School since first grade. Before entering the Order, Brother Patrick Joseph obtained his degree in engineering and Brother Gerard became a machinist.

It was providential that the Profession Day of these two fine young men would fall on the Pentecost Sunday… and the last day in the month dedicated to Our Lady! Their vocations are truly and answer to prayers! The ceremony took place at the Offertory of the Mass at 10:00 a.m., and was live-streamed for all who could not be there.

May the Holy Ghost come upon these newly professed Brothers with his special graces as they have offered themselves to God’s service through the hands of our Blessed Mother!

Watch the video from the live-streamed Mass and ceremony below; the Profession ceremony begins at 39:05.
