Traveling from across the country, 400 campers came to experience life, in a pure and simple way, and immerse themselves in an atmosphere permeated with prayer and the unseen presence of Christ and His Mother. Everything at Morning Star is done “To Jesus through Mary,” and that spirit is the thread that keeps all activities together and united in Faith.
As Saint John Bosco, the friend of youth, once said: “Whatever you do, say, or think, let it be for your soul’s good.” So, whether they were at Leadership – listening to inspiring guests speakers, going on a beautiful hike, or cheering for your team on Olympic day, or at Teen – roasting hot dogs on the campfire, spending the afternoon shooting some arrows at the archery range, or at a Regular Week – enjoying swimming, boating, making arts and crafts, or being with friends – it’s our hope that campers take what they’ve learned and the good times they’ve had and share them with others for the good of their souls. And even though campers have made their way back home, leaving their cabins empty and only a few lost-and-found items behind, the wonderful memories they have made will stay will them (and us!) year-round.
Thank you to the staff of volunteers. Your help and example is invaluable to all; a special thank you to all the benefactors, families and friends who helped keep the camp running. We appreciate all you do for us, and May God bless and reward your generosity!
In thanksgiving for a wonderful summer and for continued protection for campers and staff now and in years to come, we ask Our Lady, Morning Star: pray for us!
