St. Anthony Pilgrimage

stanthony 450On June 13, the feast of Saint Anthony, a bus of Sisters, ladies and girls went on a mini pilgrimage to Saint Anthony of Padua Church in New Bedford, MA and the Shrine of the Little Flower in Nasonville, RI.

A must-see for anyone visiting or living in Massachusetts, Saint Anthony of Padua Church is a breathtaking reminder of the traditional glory given to the House of God in the old world. The fantastic structure which can seat nearly 2,000 people is a gem of art and architecture, drawing your mind and heart up to God.

The second stop of the day was the Shrine of the Little Flower in Nasonville, Rhode Island. The shrine and parish were founded on August 23, 1923 just four months after Saint Therese was beatified, so it is proud to be the very first shrine to Saint Therese of Lisieux in the world! Although the weather was rainy, it didn't stop the pilgrims from visiting the various shrines and grottoes throughout the grounds that make the shrine an oasis of peace and prayer.

What a wonderful day of prayer and camaraderie!
