Women's Retreat at Montfort

A new tradition began at Montfort this June with the first full Women's Retreat.

Beginning on Friday, June 13, twenty-three women braved the soggy New Hampshire weather to spend time in spiritual refreshment. The "campers" of the retreat enjoyed dinner in the camp's dining facility before Benediction and Rosary. Conferences by the Sisters preceded a social hour at Sacred Heart Lodge before Compline was sung in the Chapel.

The next day, more retreatants arrived for the day, bringing the sunshine with them! It was a glorious day beginning with Mass, confession and a conference by Father Neil Roy, the retreat master. Events broke for a hearty lunch and recreation before the next conference given by Father Roy. The women were inspired by the profound thoughts and meditations Father gave throughout the day. They were also happy to experience the "Montfort mission" in a camp-like experience during the recreation when they got a chance to hike the Saint James Trek, and do some kayaking or even sailing!

The retreat was enjoyed by all and was a great opening for the Montfort season. The day ended with Benediction and Rosary and a very lively dinner. A new event has now been added to our annual schedule!
