March for Life 2018

The community of Saint Benedict Center, although small amidst the hundreds of thousands of pro-life marchers, was well represented this year at the 2018 March for Life in Washington D.C.

marchtable18A group of 4 Sisters, who had arrived at D.C. a few days earlier, joined the venders at the March for Life Convention and Expo where they set up their table of monastery and pro-life merchandise. They were soon joined by the students, faculty and friends of Immaculate Heart of Mary School who drove the bus through the night to participate in perhaps the most memorable March yet.

The excitement in the air was tangible as speaker after speaker gave inspiring talks and shared their own stories. Pro-life Senators, Congressmen and women, and pro-life organization leaders stood on the platform and gave their witness and support in the battle for life. The most hopeful and practically unimaginable speech for the day was given by President Donald Trump, who addressed and encouraged the marchers in their pro-life stand.

The March itself was phenomenal. The amount of marchers from across the country and even overseas seemed to top previous years. It was also wonderful to run into many campers and families who have attended Morning Star Girls Camp and Montfort Boys Camp!

What an amazing experience to be able to participate in not only this historic day, but this historic age with a future of high hopes for the pro-life movement! Thanks be to God for a wonderful march, good weather, and a safe trip there and back!
