Prayer is essential to the life of a religious. It connects our material work with a supernatural motive, just as it connects earth to Heaven. It is impossible for a religious Order to be "active" without a "contemplative" aspect that unites it to Jesus and Mary.
The Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary structure the entire day around prayer. We wake up to "Laudetur Jesus Christus" and prayer is woven throughout all the work and activities of each day.
Morning prayers, the Angelus, prayer before each class, and meal, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, Vespers, Compline and of course the Rosary and Holy Mass make all our actions one united effort to do all for Jesus through Mary.
