The small field in front of Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel and School, Still River, MA, is normally used as an area where students play during recess… except on one day of the year – the October Bazaar and Fundraiser!
A monastery tradition, the bazaar is a family oriented event which has drawn people from all around, even newcomers just driving through the area (not to mention, there’s free parking!) Some attendees have come year after year for over 30 years!
From 9 a.m.–5 p.m., the grounds were bustling with activity as hundreds came to enjoy the festival.
There’s something for everybody – a good bargain at the yard sale, raffles, bakery items, games for children, and an array of international foods ranging from Korean, Filipino, Brazilian, and Italian, to down-south Corn Dogs and barbecued Pulled Pork.
The picnic tables in front of the two large tents were filled as adults and children alike enjoyed their meals in the company of friends and new acquaintances.
Classic and familiar tunes interspersed throughout the day added to the happy and lively atmosphere. The rainy weather held off just long enough to make the day a success.
Thanks to all who volunteered and gave their support in making this year’s bazaar a wonderful success.
