When You Wish Upon A Star
Dont you wish sometimes that you could just wake up and find out that the last three years have been one big bad dream? Ever since the Twin Tower tragedy weve been besieged with threats of terror and bad news. Red alerts, blue alerts, amber alerts, scandals, murders, bombings, you name it its not a nice world for kids to grow up in! Childhood memories should not be shrouded with fright, distrust and worry. |

| Break through the darkness that threatens to destroy the blossom of youth
look up
to the Morning Star! This title is given to Our Lady and borrowed for our Summer Camp program dedicated to her. No matter how much the darkness around us grows we can pierce it with the light of faith instilled in the youth during this week retreat from the world. It is only by our faith that we can truly withstand the forces around us and survive this crisi, making it is still possible to have a childhood filled with happy memories, good friends, rich meaning and hope for a bright future. And what makes that possible is our Catholic Faith. Discover it at Morning Star Camp . a week experience centered on Jesus through Mary. |

2004 Morning Star Update | ||||||||||||||||
| Twenty-two years ago, we started Morning Star Girls camp in the convent back yard, with a small group of girls, a borrowed pony, and a few old army tents. Since then, weve grown alot, so for the last 10 years weve been renting lake-front sites. As it has become problematic finding available camps, we have been searching for property to make our own camp. | |||||||||||||||||
| Till then we have rented a new site to hold us over one more year. But were hoping to have our own property for camp soon so keep Morning Star Camp in your prayers! | |||||||||||||||||

Right at Home

| Yes, that is where Morning Star Camp was last year
. right at home! Many of our campers know our recent saga of searching for a permanent camp, which led us to end where we began many years ago, at the monastery in Still River, MA. Last year was a new twist for campers, who woke every morning in tents nestled in a pine grove over looking acres of sunflowers. This was Evans Farm, generously lent to us by our abutting neighbors. Morning Mass and rosary were held at our own chapel in Still River, just up the hill from the campgrounds. Meals were served in the school dining room and eaten under a tent. There was dancing on the parking lot, races and games in the field! Morning Star activities and classes included water fun at near-by ponds, a bus trip to Mt. Kearsage (which we climbed), campfires and a delightful hayride. Campers rated this week of fun and Faith as one of the best years yet. It not only gave the MSC girls a chance to meet other girls, but they got a better idea of life as a Sister MICM living at Saint Benedict Center. |
