"The Pearl of York"…at a theater near you… 
Well, not exactly…. This year a second attempt to put on a play with IHM students resulted in the usual dilemma of a shortage of cast and inability to coordinate practice time. Determined to succeed, Sister Mary Elizabeth, the director, then extended her search for talent outside the school, 
were she was met with great enthusiasm. Also switching from a play, to a video made the hours manageable to everyone.
So on February 4, twenty members of the cast began memorizing the lines of a play on the first woman martyr of the Reformation, Saint Margaret Clitherow. The following months were filled with dry runs of scenes until finally with rented costumes, the filming began. Using local residences, musty cellars, town courtroom and historical houses from the 1700’s, each of the ten scenes was acted after working hours. Because of the availability of locations, the acts were not done in sequence.
Many hours and sacrifices went into the humble production, which is now being worked on at Mancipia Film Studio by Brother Anthony Marie. If all goes well, the DVD may be available in August.
“The Pearl of York” may not win any Oscars, but we hope it will achieve the spiritual goal of Cathal Gallagher, its author and founder of Quo Vadis Catholic Theater Co, “We believe great drama can shape moral character. We also believe modern entertainment has contributed to the collapse of 
our spiritual values. We owe it to our young people to do something about it.”…So move over Mel Gibson…here we come!

Montfort Retreat: Building Continues 
The snows have long melted and the roads are dry… Progress resumes for Montfort Retreat with “Volunteer Day” on June 16th. Expected accomplishments for the summer (God willing) will be: digging the well, pouring concrete floors for the lodge, cafeteria and footings for the chapel and cabins, plumbing and electricity for the lodge, cafeteria, and bathhouse, and building the road to the chapel.
