It’s empty now…….. but you can almost hear the happy sounds of children in anticipation as you enter the dining hall at Montfort Retreat. With the help of God 2008 will be the opening year for Morning Star and Montfort Boys Camps.

This year progress on the Camp has been on schedule with our anticipations. We are happy to report that we have finished the dining hall and pavilion, the lodge and the bath house, the footings for the cabins and chapel, a playing field, the well, and part of the septic system. Before winter approaches and the seasonal road to the camp becomes impassible, we hope to finish 5 cabins, a bridge, and start the electricity before stopping for the season.

Right now, even though the buildings are up, they are unfurnished and that will be our campaign over the winter months. We have been accumulating some of the needed items, such as double stainless steel sinks for the dining hall, 16 rocking chairs for the lodge, 9 mirrors for the bath house, but we still have a long way to go. Right now we are concentraing on the dining hall. We will still need to install a “cold-room” for refrigeration, a freezer, grill, and folding tables and chairs for 150 people, picnic tables for the pavilion and many other items. We feel God’s hand in all that we have accomplished already through the donations, volunteer labor and lending of machinery, tools and housing. We ask you to help with this project in anyway you can, as we hope to have it “up and running” For Summer Camps 2008.
