Bishop McManus Visits IHM School

Immaculate Heart of Mary School was proud to welcome the newly appointed Bishop Robert McManus of the Worcester Diocese for his first visit to Saint Benedict Center on June 3rd, the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
On his arrival, he was greeted by Brother Thomas Augustine, who showed him the main building on the property, Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel. Meanwhile, IHM Band filed out of the school onto the front walkway. When Bishop McManus exited the chapel, the band greeted Him with a short “Concert”.
Afterward, the bishop was given a tour of the school, where he interacted with the students, asking them questions, sharing stories and insights. He enjoyed the poetry and music prepared for his visit by each of the elementary classes.
After the school visit, the Bishop enjoy lunch in the dining hall with the Brothers. The tour continued afterward, allowing the entire community to visit with him as he ended the day with a visit to Saint Elizabeht’s Convent and the Mancipia Printshop.
It was a beautiful and memorable event for all the students, Brothers and Sisters … and a blessing to be able to visit and converse in a relaxed manner with our Bishop. We pray for him at daily Mass and look forward to Bishop McManus’s next visit in the coming year.
