E-mail Print PDF

IHM Junior High and High School students are gearing up for the annual bus trip to Washington D.C. for the March for Life!

After some fundraising which included a popular pancake breakfast and selling these cool "IHM Pro-life" knit caps (modeled by some of the IHM Class of 2012)… the students are now ready for the big trip!

It will be a long trip through the night on January 22 – but once there, the IHM group will happily join the thousands of youth from across the country who will converge in Washington for the 39th march to take a stand for sacredness of life.

New Year 2012

"Not content with showing us our destination and our road, He becomes the faithful Companion of our pilgrimage…

He is the sun that shines on us, the spring that refreshes us, the bread that nourishes us, the arm on which we lean, the smile that cheers our hearts, the grace in a thousand different forms which preserves, forgives, purifies, sanctifies and, at the end, saves."

- Excerpt from
"The Practice of the Vows"

Special thanks to all those who helped in so many ways to make Christmas here at Saint Benedict Center truly beautiful. May God bless you for your generosity!

May this New Year of 2012 be a blessed one for all our friends and benefactors! May you walk each day with Jesus at your side as your Friend and Guide.

Christmas Blessings

Wishing all our friends and benefactors a blessed and peaceful Christmas! May the Prince of Peace be the center of your hearts and homes! You were remembered very especially in our three Christmas Masses! God bless you!

"Today the Maker of the world was born of a Virgin's womb, and He, who made all natures, became the Son of her, whom He created. Today the Word of God appeared clothed in flesh, and That which had never been visible to human eyes began to be tangible to our hands as well. Today the shepherds learned from angels' voices that the Savior was born in the substance of our flesh and soul."
~St. Leo the Great

Guadalupe Housetops

The latest issue of "From the Housetops" magazine, featuring the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe, has just been finished and will go to press after Christmas!

The 1531 apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe to 56 year-old Juan Diego in Mexico City, resulted in one of the largest mass conversions in the history of the Church.

The unique main article of the issue contains Juan Diego’s testimony in the Aztec language directly translated to English by David Jordan, professor of anthropology in the university of California, in 2005.

The issue also includes a variety of other solidly catholic…yet easy-reading articles.

So watch your mailbox for the next  "From the Housetops" magazine or, if you're not already a subscriber, sign up for a free sample issue!
